Meet Samantha

Samantha Bicker is an Occupational Therapist with over 20 years of experience working in both the UK and Australia. She has dedicated her career to supporting people with complex mental health needs and now focuses on guiding clinicians through reflective, strengths-based supervision. Her approach is grounded in compassion, connection, and the belief that everyone benefits from a safe space to pause, reflect, and grow. She also offers mental health–focused occupational therapy services that support individuals to build wellbeing, resilience, and meaningful participation in daily life.

With a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (First Class Honours) and postgraduate qualifications in Sensory Integration and Health Science Implementation, Samantha brings both depth of knowledge and genuine care to her work. She is a registered member of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA).

Drawing on occupational therapy principles such as occupational formulation and client-centred practice, along with extensive training in approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, and professional supervision, Samantha creates a supportive space where clinicians can strengthen their skills, wellbeing, and confidence—so they can continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

My Mission

At The Reflective Room, my mission is to create a space where clinicians can slow down, reconnect with their purpose, and rediscover the heart of their practice. I am committed to empowering occupational therapists and mental health clinicians through values-based, strengths-focused supervision and consultancy that honours their experience, nurtures their wellbeing, and supports their ongoing growth.

I believe that reflective practice is not just a professional requirement—it is an essential act of care. In a world that moves quickly and demands much, I aim to offer a place where clinicians feel seen, heard, and supported to explore the complexities of their work with curiosity, courage, and compassion. Through this, I strive to cultivate psychological safety, confidence, and renewed professional energy, enabling individuals and organisations to deliver truly compassionate, client-centred care.

Alongside supervision, I provide mental health–focused occupational therapy services that gently guide individuals toward greater resilience, wellbeing, and meaningful participation in daily life. My clinical work is grounded in occupational therapy principles and enriched by evidence-informed approaches, ensuring that every person I work with feels supported to move toward the life they want to live—one step, one reflection, one moment at a time.

Yes, absolutely. Most supervisory sessions are delivered online, with Microsoft Teams as the preferred platform. This allows for flexible scheduling, accessibility across locations, and a consistent, secure environment for reflective practice, clinical governance discussions, and professional development.

If you prefer another platform, this can be discussed and accommodated where appropriate.
